Linear Equations in Machine Learning

Linear equations describe relationships between variables and form the basis of many machine learning algorithms. A simple linear equation can be written as: y = mx + b Where:

  • ( y ) represents the output

  • ( x ) represents the input

  • ( m ) represents the slope

  • ( b ) represents the intercept This equation forms the foundation of Linear Regression, one of the most widely used supervised learning algorithms. Linear equations help models identify trends and relationships between variables.

Figure 3.3: Linear Relationship Between Variables

The figure represents a linear relationship between input and output variables. Linear regression models use similar mathematical relationships to predict continuous values in Machine Learning applications.
